Every hero in a movie had to learn their history in order to understand their own power. They had to find out who they are first. What gives someone power or what makes them strong? It Is knowing who they are. Knowing their culture, roots, background, tradition, history and heritage.

Answer this question —> Who am I?
Your conscious or unconscious answer shapes every aspect of your life and death.
This quote of Ralph Waldo Emerson’s is one of my all time favorites. It says “The Gods we worship write their names on our faces; be sure of that. And a man will worship something ... That which dominates will determine his life and character. Therefore it behooves us to be careful what we worship, for what we are worshiping we are becoming.”
For my purposes consider for a moment that we should - be careful who or what we identify with, for what we identify with we are becoming.
Now consider the chasm between identifying as -
an accidental clump of cells, evolved out of chaos through random chance, spiraling through a dark void, without purpose culminating into an ephemeral, advanced, amoral monkey
and
an intentionally hand crafted, intelligently designed, part flesh/part divine light being, placed and grounded in a garden for a divine purpose and valued as an integral facet of the divine family of the Father of Spirits
Feel the difference?
Training mankind to believe the former is one of Satan’s more brilliant webs of deception and it’s no wonder that humans behave as we do considering the darkness, dearth, and, yes - low vibration of our collective worldview.
Obfuscation of the part of ourselves which is of heavenly parentage (God) and spiritual origin (breathed) causes us to worship and lean into fleshly and superficial identities based on skin deep identity markers like race, sexuality, gender, economic class, what we wear, etc.
Mankind’s escalating identity confusion is apparent in the preeminence of identity politics in which it is socially and politically expedient to have a multiplicity of identity co-factors. Intersectionality has become a kind of social salvation highly esteemed by the collective of amoral advanced monkeys (“civilized society”).
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Romans 8:5-6
Mankind’s existential search for identity, purpose, meaning, connection, and something or someone greater to serve is a proof that we are not just animals and that we are searching for a piece of the puzzle which cannot be found in this realm.
If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world.
C.S. Lewis
The superficial identities and external modifications individuals are adopting in the age of the avatar/icon, in pursuit of a version of themselves they can love and worship, will prove, in the end, to be deeply misguided and powerless to provide self-actualization.
Acts 17 is one of my favorite passages and demonstrates the similarity of all peoples in all eras in their need for something greater to direct their worship while simultaneously and conveniently refusing to properly identify and have a personal relationship with this greater force. Worshiping mercurial and ambiguous gods leaves our own mercurial and ambiguous behavior open to interpretations in our favor. The last thing a sinner wants is to identify God correctly and see the truth about themselves through His holy, just, and righteous eyes.
Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious; for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription:
TO THE UNKNOWN GOD.
Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you: God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’ Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising. Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”
The King James Version says “the times of this ignorance God winked at” and I love how this translation shows God’s patience and humor toward us but since Paul’s day the time for self indulgent ignorance has come to an end.
The man “whom He has ordained” is Jesus Christ “the root of Jesse”. Who came to graft us back into the tree of life, through His spirit in us, and therefore back into communion with the Father and the divine family tree.
No matter what our background - when we are children of the world we are spiritually orphans but when we receive the spirit of truth we receive the spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father”.
Simple faith in Jesus grafts the mutts, meek, outcast, orphans, prodigals, and repentant from all tribes, tongues, and nations into the one true vine and tree of life, apart from which, the “fruits of the spirit”, and therefore any hope for a utopia or heaven cannot exist.
To the extent which the masses “find themselves” through self obsessed, dead end, identity markers the world will see less and less love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control on earth as these qualities are the fruits of a spiritual life in relationship with the living God.
It is access to God’s culture, roots, background, tradition, history and heritage we have access to when we believe The Way, The Truth, and The Life. If we understood the living, heavenly, heritage and inheritance we have access to when grafted into Christ we would walk in the peace, authority, and power that Jesus did as the son of God, even unto the destruction of our earthly avatar, because we would know that ultimately “No weapon formed against us shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against us in judgment we shall condemn. Because this is the heritage of the servants of the Lord.
